CVI  Style Guide

Often people come to us with no clear understanding of their design style. In some cases they know what they like, but cannot articulate it to a designer. Here at Casa Vilora Interiors, we want you to know that your style is anything you enjoy having in your home - things that mean something to you.  We want to make finding your "style" easy without the guessing game. Our goal is to provide guidance and helping you find your design style for a home that is uniquely yours. The images below may provide some help, or you may call us for a consultation.

"Fashion changes, but style endures.”

-Coco Chanel

Classic Style

You like pieces that give a nod to history, but have a fresh, updated look. In this example the Damask wallpaper, the ornate venetian mirror, and even the bathroom fixtures have a classic feel but have the look of "now" that families today can enjoy.

Transitional Style

You like pieces that are somewhere in between traditional and contemporary. You lean more to the cleaner lines, but still like a small bit of details. You enjoy comfortable yet practical furnishings, and while you may enjoy a dash of something trendy, timelessness is more your thing.

Traditional Style.

You enjoy pieces that are warm, cozy and inviting. You love to incorporate antiques into your decor. Often pieces that have sentimental value. You care alot about the small details like trim on the drapery, or comfortable pillows in a sofa. You like to be surrounded by all your collections

City Penthouse Style

That title describes the space more than the design style, but if you are a lover of small penthouses in the city, then this might be your thing. You don't mind living in small spaces that have big style. You are more trendy in your choices, using mostly neutrals with a dash of color. Always sophistcated and well tailored, with very creative options for storage.

Young and Free!

As the name implies, this style is appropriate for a a young girl from 8 to maybe 14. You love color - either very bright highlighter colors or cool pastels. You love comfort and practicality.

Country Style

You love casual ad comfortable pieces that are also very pratical. You enjoy a rustic aged patina on furniture and time-worn cotton and linen textiles. You enjoy displaying your collections...the quirkier, the better.

Hollywood Glam

You enjoy a little bit of shimmer to your fabrics and finishes. Luxe fabrics like velvets and silks are a big thing for you for that opulent, movie star look. You love clean-lined pieces that are as tailored as a tuxedo. You enjoy a more monochromatic color scheme of smokey grays, silvers, dark blues with a dash of gold.

Monochromatic

This is more of a color scheme than a style, but if you love the look of just one color (it could be any color), this look is for you. You enjoy the serene and calming feel of one color palette with various shades and tones used throughout. You love the look and feel of textures on fabrics and accessories in the room.

Natural Look

In this aesthetic, you enjoy bringing in a bit of nature in your space - plants, rock walls, wood. You love to have your windows and doors open to delineate the indoors from the outdoors. You love to have a great view of nature right outside your winodws

Eclectic

You enjoy working with pieces you have collected from travels and shopping. You like a mix of different styles and periods. You love a homey, lived-in look that is warm and inviting but still has an air of sophistication.

Thrifty Chic

You have a great eye for wonderful found objects from flea markets, garage sales and thrift stores. Trash to treasure is your thing. You like that nothing matches and your biggest accomplishment is scoring them all for a low price.

Romantic

You love the look of time worn pieces that have a nostalgic charm. You love romantic prints like damasks, coupled with a well patina-ed piece with wonderful details. You bring in flowers and candles as part of the decor of your home.

Texas Chic

If you live in Texas, you will probably get it. You like the authentic influences of the great landscape of Texas without going overboard. Cowhide has to be incorporated into one or more rooms in your home. You love special details like nailhead trim on upholstery. You love darker wood tones and furniture with girth.

Mid Century Modern

You love all things 50's and 60's. The distinctive look of a le Corbusier chair, or an Eames lounger totally gets you excited. You long to be a cast member of "Mad Men". If all those are true, then mid century modern might be the style for you.

Beach Cottage

You love the casual feeling of sun and surf. The rustic patina of of wood tones that mimic the sand, the blues of the sky and water, textured sisal and seagrass rugs and a light and airy sun drenched feeling.

Shabby Chic With A Touch Of Industrial

That is a mouthful I know, but if you love the casual look of white slipcovers, vintage french chairs, lots of pillows and rustic industrial pieces thrown in, then this is the look for you.

Cottage Style

If you love casual, comfortable and lots of meaningful stuff around you, then you might just be into the cottage style. Furniture pieces are aged and a mix of flea market finds with modern pieces. Usually painted finishes, linen or cotton slip-covered upholstery and lots of throws and pillows.

Modern Minimalist

If you like clean and contemporary, no-fuss and a really uncluttered look, then you just might be a minimalist. You enjoy an airy feel with only a few strong statement pieces around.
